Courtney Grove, AMFT112073
It can be an arduous task to find a therapist. Not just any therapist - the therapist that will match well with your needs, that you can feel comfortable with, and trust with your story and the deepest yearnings of your heart. Courtney is passionate about walking alongside individuals, couples, and families, and aiding them as they strive towards healing the emotional wounds they carry.
Often times we spend so long in our pain, trying to shove our heavy emotions into a dark place in our hearts; running from the emotional ache from our broken marriages, our depression and anxiety, our fears. Maybe you’ve spent years trying to white knuckle through your days, trying to get through just one more day, wishing you could give your pain and your story a voice. Perhaps you can’t understand how your life came to be the way it is. Courtney wants to cultivate the ability in you to make different choices for the life you want to live; together we can help you identify your choices and help you identify your underlying belief systems that influences why you make them.
Courtney works to create a space in which her clients feel respected and safe to be vulnerable - to give a voice to and explore their painful, broken attachments and fears. Courtney strives to hold hope and unconditional positive regard for every client she works with, no matter their story or situation. Courtney believes that therapy is the place where your story can be heard and rebuilt, and passionately believes that therapy is a useful tool in the process of pursuing wholeness and peace.
Courtney has experience working with clients who struggle with emotional instability, impaired relationship struggles, depression and/or anxiety, chemical addictions, pornography addiction (including spouses of individuals who struggle with pornography addiction), shame, and thoughts of suicide or self harm. Courtney is passionate about marriages and believes that it is within these relationships that we can find the most healing of our individual struggles.
Courtney has training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and has completed level 1 Gottman Method Couples Therapy. Courtney’s also been trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and treatment for addictions. Courtney earned a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University and a BA from Point Loma Nazarene University in General Psychology with a study emphasis in Therapeutic and Community Psychology.
Courtney would be honored to hold the space for your healing to create a life that you can be happy to go home to.
